The MBC's do not have tendency to spike per say. The spike happens when when boost increases fast but the air pressure is slow to overcome the long and small vaccuum hoses to reach the wastegate diaphram to push against the wastegate springs.
Use short and thick vaccuum hoses will minimize the spike. Whereas welding tips will always spike because the pin pole size openning. Nothing you can do about it. Most Z ppl use EBC because the convenience of cockpit adjustment. But MBC will give you the most accurate, no BS boost control.
